Solar Thermal Systems

Solar thermal collectors, such as Flat Plate Collectors and Evacuated Tube Collectors are used to convert solar energy into heat. Heat energy is generated through the absorption of the sun’s rays by the collectors.

Within the system, there is an electronic controller which monitors the temperatures of the solar collectors and the temperature of water within the hot water tank constantly. When the controller detects that the temperature of solar collectors is higher than that of the water, it will switch on the circulating pump to circulate the heat transfer fluid in the system. The heat transfer fluid will then absorb the heat energy and transfer it to the water within the hot water tank through the heat exchanger.

The water within the hot water tank can be used directly for various applications; such as washing or showers.
