Adsorption (AD) Water Desalination

In Adsorption (AD) Water Desalination, water is produced by the amalgamation of evaporation and condensation processes, which were triggered by adsorption and desorption of silica gel respectively.

The Adsorption Desalination Technology is developed by National University of Singapore (NUS) and two Japanese Universities - Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and Kyushu University. Water desalination is based on the Adsorption (AD) technology, and produces clean water by the amalgamation of evaporation and condensation processes, which were triggered by adsorption and desorption of silica gel respectively. This water desalination technique is an innovative clean energy technology which can utilise waste heat/solar heat energy, saving huge amount of electric energy often associated with Reverse Osmosis (RO).

Advon is currently fabricating commercial prototype for site deployment and certification. Advon plans to commercialise this product before 2011. More information will be provided shortly.
